week #10 2025

Hi, I’m Martha Alex, a passionate vlogger who has spent years capturing life through the lens. While my videos tell a visual story, I’ve realized there’s something special about putting thoughts into words. That’s why I’ve started this blog: a written window into my everyday routine. Every week, I’ll be sharing personal insights, daily experiences, behind-the-scenes moments, and all the little details that don’t always make it into the vlogs. Whether you’re here for inspiration, curiosity, or simply love following someone’s real-life journey, I invite you to walk with me through the ups, downs, and everything in between. Let’s make this a space where stories come to life one day at a time.

Day 1

Our new series, Yes, Chef!, is almost here! We’re helping 12 talented chefs reach their full potential. My team members are ready to open my new restaurant with unique recipes for my customers. We’re partnering with the iconic chef José Andrés to launch a new, exclusive dinner experience. This limited-edition dinner includes José’s epic Chicken Paella Valenciana and Martha’s dreamy Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake, shipped right to your door.

Day 2

Every year, I love to take out all my beautifully decorated Easter eggs from years past—hundreds of them—and find new and different ways to display them around my home. It looked so delicious.

Day 3

Everything around my farm is growing so beautifully—there are gorgeous spring blooms in every garden. I have flowering fritillaria, leucojum, muscari, trout lilies, tulips, and Mertensia with their charming blue flowers that open from pink-tinged buds, as well as large pink blooms of the magnolia, and many more.

Day 4

We attended a wonderful gala last evening for a very good charity!!! It’s always a festive and fancy occasion held at the magnificent Metropolitan Club. I wore my favorite elegant outfit, a Row silk two-piece white pants and a top, with my glorious sequin Libertine coat.

Day 5

Today, it’s the hardest day; I lost my sweet boy, Lucky.

Why does it hurt so much? The kind of pain that sits in your chest and hurts more than I can explain. I miss him so much already. I can’t imagine working in the garden without him. He was always by my side, quiet and patient, watching me plant and harvest. The garden won’t feel the same without his little paws padding through the dirt or the way he’d rest in the sun while I worked and morning sunbathed.

Day 6

Beautiful, colorful azaleas—just two of the many varieties grown and maintained at White’s Nursery LLC in Germantown, Maryland. Many of my azaleas are from White’s, including a selection of bright orange and yellow potted specimens I just picked up for a gardening project at my farm.

Day 7

Tulips from my garden and some from my friend, Bearcreekfarm Debra Kaye. I have been growing most of my tulips in beds specifically planted for cutting, and many tulips planted this way, away from everything else, produce flowers year to year. All of the reds and pinks are second-year blooms and are large and plump, and glorious! The bulbs came from theflowerhat, and bearcreekfarm sells cut flowers in and around NYC—tulips, dahlias, and Kiku mums.
